A very straight, 1957 Packard Clipper. This particular Clipper was bought as you see it in the pictures. The odometer reads 31228 and it was said to be an all-original car including paint, this appears to be true by the condition that it is in. This beauty is being offered for sale from a private collection that has only the finest of vehicles, they are all inspected and well maintained and get regular service as required. They are all stored in a heated, dry, facility and only taken out on nice sunny days.

This beauty has the Supercharged 289 engine that puts out 275 horsepower.

The year 1957 was the second to last year of the Packard name on any car. The cars were built along side the Studebaker in South Bend Indiana. There were only two models available for the 57 lineup with the Packard name, the four door available here and a Country Sedan Wagon. Both styles employed a Studebaker President chassis with a proud Packard grille and Caribbean-style trim.

EXTERIOR:

The previous owner stated that the paint on this car is supposed to be original. We cannot verify this, but it appears that this would be true. There is an area that is showing some cracking, but the car still shows some shine as seen by the photos. The quarter panels are all factory stock as is everything on the car. The stainless trim is in overall good condition. There is some pitting on the taillights, but other than that the chrome is good condition.

INTERIOR:

The interior of this ride is all original, the seats have no rips and the headliner is tear free as well. The dash pad will need to be repaired as age has taken its toll on this rare ride. The car has the rare power window option as well as a wonderbar radio.

ENGINE:

For the age of the car the engine is in near show condition. This will only assist in the belief that the mileage on this great ride could very well be true. The powerful, numbers matching, supercharged 289 runs very well and has lots of life ready for the many miles to come cruising down the open road. The newer dual exhaust sounds great and will last for a long time to come.

UNDERCARRIAGE: The undercarriage is in solid condition.

I wanted to add that the supercharger belt is removed due to a squeaky bearing. The supercharger can be repaired and overhauled by a company in California for a quote of about $450.00. Sorry for this oversight.
